TYPE  I R.S.V - SHIP TO SHORE SERVICE
RIVER SEA VESSELS WHICH PLAY SHIP SHORE OPERATION OF INDIAN PORT BEYOND INLAND VESSEL LIMITS IN FAIR WEATHER ONLY. , Eg: COAL LIGHTERAGE, WHICH TAKE PLACE OUTSIDE MUMBAI HARBOUR.
TYPE  II R.S.V- NEARBY PORTS SERVICE
RIVER SEA VESSELS WHICH PLAY BETWEEN NEARBY PORTS IN FAIR WEATHER  AND THE SEA PASSAGE SHOULD COVERED BY A FULLY LOADED VESSEL AT VESSEL'S OPTIMUM SPEED DURING DAY LIGHT HOURS ONLY
TYPE  III  R.S.V - RESTRICTED COASTAL SERVICE
RIVER SEA VESSELS WHICH PLAY BETWEEN INDIAN PORTS WHERE VOYAGE DURATION DOES NOT EXCEED 48 HOURS. VESSELS TO KEEP MAXIMUM PARALLEL DISTANCE OF 12.N.M. FROM NEAREST LAND. GULF OF CAMBAY.  & GULF OF KUTCH WHERE MAXIMUM DISTANCE OF 30.N.M. FROM SHORE IS ALLOWED.
WITHIN THE TERRITORIAL WATERS OF INDIA 

TYPE  IV  R.S.V - UNRESTRICTED COASTAL SERVICE
RIVER SEA VESSELS WHICH PLAY BETWEEN INDIAN PORTS IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS, 12. N.M. PARALLEL DISTANCE FROM NEAREST LAND. GULF OF CAMBAY.  & GULF OF KUTCH WHERE MAXIMUM DISTANCE OF 30.N.M. FROM SHORE IS ALLOWED. WITHIN THE TERRITORIAL WATERS OF INDIA
REGISTRATION
TYPE I  & TYPE II VESSELS MAY BE REGISTERED UNDER INLAND VESSEL ACT AT OWNERS OPTION
TYPE III & TYPE IV VESSELS TO BE REGISTERED UNDER M.S.ACT

 THE RULES FOR INDIAN RIVER SEA VESSELS ARE APPLICABLE TO SHIPS WHICH ARE:

ENGAGED EXCLUSIVELY ON INDIAN COASTAL VOYAGES.

1. LESS THAN 6000 GT / 8000.K.W. PROPULSION POWER  IN THE CASE OF CARGO SHIPS;
2. LESS THAN 10000 GT / 10000.K.W PROPULSION POWER  IN THE CASE OF DREDGERS;
3. LESS THAN 3000 GT/ 3000 K.W. PROPULSION POWER  IN THE CASE OF RSV TANKERS;*
4. LESS THAN THAN 400 PASSENGERS ONBOARD IN THE CASE OF R.S.PASSENGER VESSEL*

* RSV TANKERS ARE VESSELS WHICH CARRY PETROLEUM OILS OF FLASH POINT EXCEEDING 60°C AND VEGETABLE OILS SPECIFIED IN THE DGS ORDER.

*INDIAN RIVER SEA PASSENGER VESSELS APPLIES UNDER CATEGORY OF RSPV TYPE III & IV, ONLY TO PASSENGER VESSELS THAT ARE ENGAGED EXCLUSIVELY IN OPERATIONS WITHIN INDIAN TERRITORIAL WATERS,AND WHICH CARRY LESS THAN 400 PASSENGERS ONBOARD.


RIVER SEA VESSEL RULES DOES NOT APPLY TO
 CARRYING BULK CHEMICALS OR GAS IN ANY FORM (PACKAGED OR OTHERWISE);
 FISHING VESSELS;
 MILITARY AND GOVERNMENT SHIPS NOT USED FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES.

CO2  TOTAL FLOODING SYSTEM MAINTENANCE

According to msc.circular 1/1432 & 1/1318


WEEKLY


1   .       Emergency light.
2   .       Emergency alarm.
3   .       Blower.
4   .       Condition of moving part.
5   .       Control panel indicator lights are function.
6   .       Verify all control system valves are correct position.

M      MONTHLY

1  .       General visual inspection, overall system condition and no obvious signs of damage.
2  .       All stop valves are in stop condition.
3  .       All releasing controls are proper position and readily accessible for immediate use.
4  .       Discharge piping and tubes are intact and not damaged.
5  .       All high pressure cylinders are in place and properly secured.
6  .       Alarm devices are in place and do not appear damage.

          ANNUALLY

1  .       The boundaries of the protected space should be visually inspect, confirm no modification and alteration which render system in effective.
2  .       Externally examine high pressure cylinders for damage and corrosion.
3  .       Function test of all available and visual alarm.
4  .       Verify all control section valves are in correct position.
5  .       Check the connection of all pilot release for tightness.
6  .       Examine all flexible hoses.
7  .       Test fuel shut of controls connected to the system.


TWO YEARLY
1  .       Weighment of cylinders
2  .       Blow through the pipe and nozzle by air

           FIVE YEARLY
1  .       Relief valve pressure test and servo piston movement.      
       
     TEN YEARLY
1  .       All flexible hoses should be replaced.
2  .       All discharge pipe line pressure tested at maximum working pressure.
3  .       High pressure cylinder hydro static pressure tested.
